Re: Building works on Mill Meadow Bridge

Dear Tennis Club Members,

I am writing to keep you informed of the progress of the improvements to Mill Meadow Bridge.

The next stage of the recommended works to the bridge is for the existing road surface and pavement surface to be removed and new waterproofing surface to be applied.  Following this there remains only some road lining to be designed and applied.

We have commissioned the re-surfacing of the access bridge with a view to getting it all completed before end of this year – the earliest opportunity the contractors have available is week commencing 26th November.

As Thursday and Friday are the very busiest days on the bridge and I am asked that these should be avoided is possible . Thus, the contract will allow for the planing off of the existing surfaces on Monday to Wednesday the first week

w/c Monday 26th November, and then re-setting of the kerbs and final surfacing the following week, Monday 3rd December to Wednesday 5th

At all times during the construction the bridge will have restricted access but I am assured that vehicles will be able to use the bridge in a limited form (alternate flow ) with traffic management by the contractors operatives.

We will be handing out leaflets urging car park users to finds alternative ways of getting into the Meadow facilities  and we are hoping for some cooperation from the public.

We would be grateful if traffic across the bridge could be kept to a minimum while the works are in hand as this will speed up the activity.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards

Tina Derham
