Clubhouse Renovation – Update

Clubhouse renovation news update

We now have an important update on clubhouse renovations.  The work on restoring the clubhouse roof, and redecorating the interior, will commence on Monday 15th June.  From this date, the clubhouse premises, as well as the area fenced off, will be legally handed over to the contracting company, CRL, and NO ACCESS TO THE CLUBHOUSE will be permitted.  The alley way leading to the 4th court will be out of bounds for safety reasons, and a temporary gate allowing access to court 4 will be installed.  The roof is being completely removed and a new roof installed, and hence there could be a risk of materials falling from the roof.  Please take extra care when entering the tennis courts and please observe the safety signs that will be put up.  The work is expected to take 12 weeks.

The intention is to install a ‘Welfare Unit’ in the carpark, which will include a ladies and separate men’s toilet, with hand-washing facilities.  Once installed, we will conduct a risk assessment for the use of the Welfare Unit, taking into account the covid-19 guidelines, and issue a further communication in due course.

There will also be a skip and storage unit to house the lawnmower, blower and other essential equipment that we will need to remove from the clubhouse.

The FENCE going around the welfare unit will be erected on  from 8am FRIDAY 12th JUNE – THEREFORE THE CAR PARK IS CLOSED.  It is hoped to install the various Units in the car park either on Monday 12th June – the CAR PARK WILL BE CLOSED ON THIS DAY  Please park up the drive or at the community centre and allow extra time to walk down to the club. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Please be careful walking along the drive as the foliage is quite high at the moment.

Driving is restricted to 5 MPH along the drive.

We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and consideration during the period of clubhouse restoration, and we all look forward to the opening of the refurbished clubhouse with a new, very high-quality roof!
