Clubhouse Storm Damage – Update
Following the storm damage to the clubhouse, the insurance company has appointed a Loss Adjuster, who in turn has appointed several specialist sub-contractors to report on the extent of the damage and recommend restorative measures.
Currently, a ‘flooding’ specialist is drying out the areas behind the plasterboard wall, which was already becoming mouldy. A structural engineer has examined the roof, and is recommending complete replacement of the current roof, which although mainly intact, may have lost some of its structural integrity due to excessive rainwater being absorbed into the roof slabs.
We are now awaiting approval from the insurance company to proceed with the repairs. It is hoped that the clubhouse will remain accessible during most of the repairs, although there will be times when we have to close the clubhouse for safety reasons.
Notice of any such closure will be communicated to club members. We thank you for your patience and co-operation at this time.
